Sustainable by nature

Sustainable by nature

Supima is one of the world’s finest cotton, containing stronger fibres and softer fabric. It is twice as strong as standard cotton, meaning it is longer-lasting, and due to the extra-long fibres, Supima has a more luxurious feel and will only get softer as time passes.

At Lorraine Lea, we focus on providing Australians with the best quality linen and homewares that will be in their home for years. This is why our team is dedicated to researching and sourcing sustainable, eco-friendly items and materials.

Head to our Sustainability page to see why we’ve transitioned to sustainable packaging, and read on to see which of our products are constructed from sustainable materials.

Supima Cotton

What is Supima?

Supima is one of the world’s finest cotton, containing stronger fibres and softer fabric. It is twice as strong as standard cotton, meaning it is longer-lasting, and due to the extra-long fibres, Supima has a more luxurious feel and will only get softer as time passes.

How is it sustainable?

Supima is fully compostable and leaves zero waste, meaning that it looks impressive and is eco-friendly. Every part of the Supima plant is utilised, and nothing goes to waste. Even the seeds are shared with local livestock.

Moreover, Supima cotton farmers prioritise maximising water use efficiency and soil conservation to increase their sustainability further.

Supima Products:

Our Supima Sheets are one of our best sellers due to a 600 thread count, creating an incredibly soft and luxurious feel. The Supima range includes Fitted Sheets, Pillowcases and Sheets Sets.

Elayna Linen

Our Elayna Linen range is made from the finest French Flax Linen. The flax plant requires less water and fewer harsh chemicals than other materials, making it an extremely eco-friendly process.

Like Supima, the entire flax plant is utilised and doesn’t go to waste. The flax plant seeds make linseed oil.

The Elayna Linen range comes in a beautiful range of colours and includes Quilt Cover Sets, Sheet Sets, and European Pillowcases.

Wool

Not only do wool products feel incredibly warm and cosy, but they are also very environmentally friendly. Directly from a sheep’s coat, Wool is a renewable and biodegradable fibre. What’s leftover acts as a fertiliser, releasing valuable nutrients into the soil.

Our Wool range includes Underlays, the Bamboo/Wool Quilt & Bamboo/Wool Mattress Protector, Wool Quilt and Wool Pillow.
